I'm 61 and fixing to loose it all.

Your next act should be an act that your son could look up to you for doing.

Your son will not want you to lose it all. Your son made a mistake and would change it if he knew how much pain it caused others.
When a person does what your son did it is because they were in a confused state. They would take the act back if they could.

Your next act should be an act that your son could look up to you for doing. An act of GREAT COURAGE AND LOVE. Pray for your son. Tell God to send all of the love you have in your heart to your son right now, then ask God to help you.
A prayer for your son right now will be a great act of courage and love.

Life isn't fair to those of us who had to bury their own kids. We live with the pain every day but in the end it has made us stronger people than we would have ever imagined. Great post JSM!

I have reached out to a couple friends close to Fr. Andrew to tell him to check his email:

Fish is doing much better...but I'm sure he'd still appreciate a call from Fr. Andrew if at all possible.

So glad you got in touch with him

I can’t imagine how he’s feeling (and several of you all also).

Fish, we all <3 you and wish you the best... you know how this place is and how we mess with everyone, but when it comes down to it you’ve got a bunch of people here that think an awful lot of you.

Good to hear, man. I don't know you but your story puts life into perspective.

From someone (me) who doesn't really have a family, you have so much to be thankful for. Keep fighting the good fight.

Good to hear. We have to live with the hurt , not die from it. Time doesn't cure but it helps- if you ever get back up this way let's have a beer or 10.

Lets see what the OT can really do...

I always hear the bragging about the "OT getting it done"

Hey, thanks. The last couple weeks had been unreal or so I been thinking. If it was only my own health, so be it. I would be more then welcome my maker. I'm almost 6 years told I had less then 6 months to live. Flat out told those doctors to get me back on my feet, and then I fired them.

Overall, I feel as if this life has no more meaning. My body is calling it quits. There is more pain then one should take from my days in the Marine Corps and later on in life. Mine wise, there always been a will. That has always been strong with me. I always push myself way more then most can do. I saw crap that I pray nobody has ever to see. The last year, the wind has been taking out my sail. I had never called it a day when things needed to be done. But now, I feel I need rest.

I do thank all.

I totally understand what you are going through. I was the caretaker for my brother in law , who had only 5% of his heart working. He started out great but declined at the end of the year and passed away in march. Keep fighting man, we only have one life so we need to fight for every minute possible. Good luck and God bless you.

Fish—y’all to your daughter. She is a member of a profession with an escalating suicide rate and the AVMA has begun to aggressively address that problem. She needs all of her Dad she can get but she also has help to offer, I believe.
Hang in there—
