Some of you may recognize my affiliation with Glacier NP. Well today I accepted a job with the USFS as a wilderness ranger for great bear wilderness here in Montana. The wilderness area is situated on the southern border of glacier national park, and is part of the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex.

So in short, did I make the right move?

I was working as maintenance bitch boy for NPS, 5 8s per week.... My job as a USFS wilderness ranger I’ll be patrolling the backcountry and doing some trail maintenance along the way. My schedule is working 8 on, 6 off. Being paid to hike, camp, patrol backcountry sites, and issue citations.

What does the OT say?

Watch out for bears stealing pick-a-nick baskets.

I always thought these types of jobs would be cool, but then I realize you have to be one introvert person to enjoy it.

You aren't getting laid, socializing, or interacting with anyone. No thanks. The seasonal workers that do fishing guides, rafting guides, work the ski lifts, bars, etc. have it better.

No one gives AF about your job that pays $12.50/hr. We all know you live in Montana, congrats. Is that what you were looking for?

I know someone who's been doing that for a few years. She loves it. No pics, she's a probable lesbian, and not the hot kind. But a nice person.
