On the flip side you seem to want to crucify MLK while defending the rest as 'a product of their time.'
You have to stay consistent in your stance if you are going to throw stones at others for flip flopping on the subject.
Was being a plagiarizing adulterer, etc a product of MLKs time?

It certainly doesn't have anything to do with why he is celebrated.
Maybe the plagiarism shite, but that is such a stretch.

You just proved what I've been saying. We aren't celebrating Washington because he owned slaves so why condemn him now and try to diminish his contributions?

Washington fricked around on his wife as well.
We don't hear a ton of people discrediting him as President or Commander because of that.
Was it acceptable back then?

that's true I learned about it on my 8th grade class field trip to Indigenous People's, D.C. - where I saw the Indigenous People's Monument!
spent a couple of these bad boys, too - a good time had by all

All of these men were flawed, it doesn't take away from their positive contributions though.

Why do you keep moving the goal post instead of commenting on what I posted?

100% agree. That is my stance.
Whether the person is white, black, man, woman, your contributions should stand. Being judged 200 years later will bring up bad images, do they contrast with why you are celebrated? Do they nullify it?

The bad MLK did and the bad Columbus did are not even in the same fricking ballpark.

Haven't moved anything. Quit the redirection.
You are discrediting MLK for adultery when his accomplishments are in civil rights.
No one cares about adultery in powerful people. It is a scapegoat to discredit.

Man, I've clearly explained my point to you yet you're being purposely obtuse to fit your narrative.

but in today's world, he wouldn't be seen the same way. Especially with his views towards women, gay couples, and lying.
His views on women and gay couples seemed to align with the views of many men in that time. If he was product of today's society, there is a good chance his views would be a lot more respectful and accepting of women and gay folks

quote:
Arriving in Santo Domingo while Columbus was away during the explorations of his third voyage, Bobadilla was immediately met with complaints about all three Columbus brothers: Christopher, Bartolomeo, and Diego. Bobadilla reported to Spain that Columbus regularly used torture and mutilation to govern Hispaniola
quote:
According to the report, Columbus once punished a man found guilty of stealing corn by having his ears and nose cut off and then selling him into slavery.
quote:
"Columbus's government was characterised by a form of tyranny," Consuelo Varela, a Spanish historian who has seen the document, told journalists. "Even those who loved him had to admit the atrocities that had taken place."
and can you believe that these snowlfake SJW cucks don't want to celebrate him anymore? or that anyone would imply there is a small difference between his actions and cheating on your wife?
stout and I won't stand for it I'll tell ya that man
