This as well. Third base coaches can 'always get a better deal'.

If you like the damn car, just go buy the damn thing.....

You’re right about that. It’s weird.

Maybe, but as I have learned Honda uses cheap paint that is known for oxidizing after 7 years or so.

If you avoid taking you car to Pelican point every week and literally spend an hour twice a year putting a coat of wax. That “ cheap” paint will literally never do that.

A good buddy of mine sold cars for years. This lady comes in and they land on a vehicle. All she cared about was the monthly note. Actually, it was the note and one more thing. This is what she says while doing the paperwork:
"Now tell me exactly how much my note be, WITH the late fee?"

A huge percentage of buyers are only worried about the payment.

It's great when one comes in and tells the salesman right off the bat what their max payment is. The dealer will make more money on that deal because they'll put them in a lower optioned car and hold more profit.

Figure out what make/model/year you want, get approved, then start looking online. I just did this and saved thousands, flew in and drove home. I was at the dealership for less than an hour signing papers.

Absolutely!!!! Just listen to all the hard dicks in this thread talking about writing down the price and walking out or getting 10 quotes from every dealer in the five state area. They all brag about how good of a deal but never do you see the window sticker and final signed paper work posted.

You people do realize they can only go so low before they lose money right? How much mark up do you think the average vehicle has?

He calls back with a whopping $6k off sticker. I said thanks but not even remotely close.

Nothing less than 20% off MSRP

and they’ll still be making money

Go buy a $50k truck for $40k out the door. Post the Monroney and your retail purchase agreement.

Ban bet. I will never set cursor on this site again.

You have to be joking. I mean seriously. Here's one example from a local dealership. This is more than commonplace. LINK

This may or may not be the norm, but I just got a 2020 Chevy Silverado LTZ TX edition 4x4 6.2L for a little under invoice (about $13000 off sticker.) I feel like it was a good deal, and I'm sure they made their money.

One thing I've learned about buying at any time is knowing what I will pay. I'm not going to out-negotiate a seasoned salesman. He does it every single day, whereas I do it once every 3-5 years. I won't win the negotiation, but I know what I'll pay.

I have been looking.. no one wants to give fair market on trade... and a good vehicle with under 100k
two different places have told me, used cars on lots aren’t moving and only going to offer me about 2000 less than they think they can get at auction..

I guess I need to try and sell out right.. never done this is... is it a pain in the arse?

Ford just posted a $2 Billion loss and projects much more for Q2 so I would say they are desperate to make a deal. If not now then very soon. Ford Earnings report
