This and me having to wear a mask in church are really the only two mask things that really bother me.

I think all of it is stupid at this point and needs to be cancelled, but we have the dumbest politicians in the country

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Gov. John Bel Edwards on Tuesday will announce whether he’ll keep Louisiana’s indoor mask mandate for another month or let it expire since the state has emerged from its latest coronavirus spike and is seeing lower rates of COVID-19 infection.

The Democratic governor seems poised to let the face covering requirement he reenacted in August fall off the books for most public indoor locations when it’s set to expire Wednesday, letting individual businesses decide whether they want their customers masked up.

The main question appeared to be whether Edwards will continue the mandate for K-12 schools, where he’s noted that students under 12 cannot yet get vaccinated against the coronavirus and sit in crowded classrooms for hours. He’s repeatedly talked of the exposure risks for schoolchildren.

Not surprising to see people on this board butthurt as usual over this mandate.

So you think a virus that came from a Level 4 Bio Lab can be prevented from spreading by a paper mask you can buy at the gas station checkout line?

Sloth saving lives

Louisiana now has one of the nation’s lowest per capita rates of new COVID-19 infections, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The number of new infections and the percentage of COVID-19 tests returning positive also have dropped sizably over the last two months, with the test positivity falling below 3% statewide.

Also looking at stats:

Infections per 100k is currently 25.2 which is approaching all time low of 24

Rt is at .65 which is an all time low

Percent fully vaccinated is 47% while 53% have received at least 1 dose

Percent of people ever infected is 68.49%

Cases, deaths, and hospitalizations all continue to decline

What can he possibly point to and say it needs to continue?

99.99% survival rate. I 100% believe he will extend it for schools just to be a slimy cock sucker.

Have you seen the cumulative numbers? They keep rising.

It really doesn’t matter what he does, unless someone a person knows dies people don’t care. The statistics are overwhelming that isn’t going to happen.

Clear bullying. Toya coming out a few hours before JBE to announce masks until 2023.

If he extends for schools, the individual private schools need to have meetings with the parents/boards to decide whether to comply or not and parents need to threaten to not pay - just like they did a few months ago. It worked.

Public schools however are screwed in this scenario.

Yup. I stated this on the board two weeks ago. He lets the indoor mandate expire but keeps it for schools. I think he will keep it for schools until the vaccine is approved for 5-12. if not past then.

I’ve got news for the slimy cocksucker - he’s about 6 weeks behind the curve on this one.

Schools excepted, of course. Let’s see where he goes with that.

She actually surprised me by showing up with the Lt. Governor at the October Fest this weekend and didn't release a normal count like press release about people gathering to have a good time.

Yea, I'm sure he'll have pediatricians and Drs he cherry picked to speak for an hour on why they think mask for kids should continue.

He'll say some bullshite about Halloween. Then the next month it'll be Thanksgiving. Then Christmas

I'm probably going to give in soon and get the shot. I checked the website to see what locations in the area will give you the $100 Visa gift card that I keep hearing about.

Kind of strange that it seems to only be focused on locations that black folks would be near.
