Don't have a problem with a federal holiday celebrating the end of slavery. I do hate that "African" colors are used instead of red, white, and blue. I hate the tone and spirit of the holiday, which is to berate our country, oversimplify history, and boil every American value and accomplishment into "racism, racism, racism." American holidays should not be about demonizing America.

Even if blacks want to claim the date as true independence, it still was over 150 years ago.
Why are so many still claiming oppression?

Why do they use African colors for an American holiday?

Kind of ironic since there is still slavery in Africa, people from Africa sold the slaves and white males from America freed slaves and gave them the right to vote.

They didn’t even fight for and win their own independence, a bunch of white male republicans fought and died for their freedom from Democrats. Yet here we are again.
