Well Atlanta is a pretty big city and a major airport hub. Plus I am sure conditions are worse up there than down here. Why would they not cover it more since it will be in Atlanta?

You missed my point... I see that ATL may go through some bad stuff.. BUT The Weather channel is based in Atlanta... They will cancel their stupid shows for A strong rainstorm when it MAY hit there.. But if there is severe weather coming toward Texas/LA/ MS/ etc... They don't give a shite.......

of course the longer it lasts the more ice potential.. but it shouldn't change to snow, and it doesn't look like freezing rain either.

This is my concern... But hey I am home and hunkered down.... No reason to go anywhere which I would recommend for anyone who may want to venture out.........Even in the BR area...............

Depends on how much the air just above the surface has gotten. Most likely it'll just be a little ice.
I'm surprised at the returns from the Lake Charles radar. Some heavy precip lifting out of the gulf considering how cold it is.

Still have plenty of precip out there and with the temps already close or at freezing I think BR definitely sees sleet and possibly some flurries.

None thus far. Decent rain around lunch, temp slowly dropping all day. I think it was 35 last I checked with a decent breeze blowing. Just miserable weather.

I'm thinking that rain coming out of lake Charles will be at the least sleet when it hits BR. You are starting to see small pockets of snow show up on radar south of I-10. I would think given another hour of temps dropping it would be snowing in BR around 7ish. JMO
