Whutt? Severn gets no where near Bonnabel; they are parallel to each other.

If you ask a real estate agent that’s selling a house in Metairie, all of it is old Metairie.

I love the old Metairie border debates. All it takes is one post that’s clearly a troll and this place loses it.

OT should have a meet up at gennaros to formally establish the OT old Metairie boundaries.

We do need to decide if the land between W Esp and Vets is its own neighborhood or belongs to one of these historical neighborhoods.

We always called that area, “over toward the Lake.”

Isn’t that near the Elmwood Aeration pits?

Fun fact those ponds and fountains where the Earhart Expressway meets Clearview are Sewerage pits of treated sewerage before moving the water back into the environment.

My favorite place where if you need to test your sense of smell is on I-10 just before the I-310 exit. Kenner has their sewer treatment plant by the levee. That place can smell. Last night, you had the perfect mix of hot asphalt and shite as I was passing through that area.

You would think someone would move that plant away from the airport and the interstate, so the first and last thing you smell in New Orleans is not shite.

Friend,

It should say Severn and then Metairie Road at it snakes itself northeast toward Bonnabel. Severn for a very short portion is a suggested western border, although after consulting some maps, we may have to draw the line west of Severn.

Friend,

I would propose N Turnbull between Airline and W Napoleon as a western border. Including such cultural icons as Guillory’s Grocery, Whitey’s Pool Hall and Fulco’s Bar would be a strong anchor for the western border.

I usually don't make my way to Cleary Ave too often, but I noticed it while I was on Transcontinental last night.

It appears we've established that the Old Metairie borders are, at their most conservative, most of Severn to the west, parish line to the east, Airline to the south and Vererans Blvd to the north.

Now, all that's left to determine is whether part of the border extends somewhat north of Veterans, and how much of that NW corner where Severn meets Veterans is truly Old Metairie.

There will be resistance from those that live near Metairie Rd. in what should be renamed New Old Metairie because of the loss of character with the new construction.

No Sonic nearby, but there's a Rally's 10 feet away in case it comes to that.

Whoops, I misread as Giorlandos, which is on the northern border.

The scent has made its way here to Covington.

No, catch up on the thread. Maps presented have proven that incontrovertible fact.

I could smell it in Covington last week. Burnt rubber smell now for a week plus. How big is the marsh fire?

Not sure but the weird weather has been making the smell much worse with no rain, low winds and high pressure keeping it down.

Let's have an OT executive old Metairie board meeting at Hog Alley to discuss this important matter.

There is also a rumor going around that Paul Allen was not well behaved at the St Catherine fair this weekend, so we will need to have a discussion about his punishment.
