Maurice is solid..North Vermilion is a great high school. Be careful where you move to if it's not IN Maurice..chance of being rezoned to Abbeville is high. You don't want to live in Abbeville or send you kids there.

Sad, but true. Abbeville went to shite.

Youngsville rite now especially considring oil prices. Spoke to a real estate agent buddy of mine yesterday and she was telling me that it's insane what houses are going for. If you were raised in th country and really do want to do things like piss out of your back door move to Caltahoula Louraville area.

What about land along the teche? Im sure its pricey.... But Im guessing its just finding it. I would rather be on the teche more than anything else.

Atleast 2-3x weekly people stop by asking to buy property from myself or my parents and grandparents in Youngsville to do exactly what you want to do. New builds are going for about 175-200 per square foot for higher end finishes. We built for 139 per foot 3 years ago and turned around and appraised for 180 on closing.

I live in Maurice. It's really quiet and a short distance to Laffy. It's growing fast with a lot of subdivisions popping up. If you have young children then Cecil Picard is considered the best elementary school in Vermilion. NV high is a good school for a small city as well.

Just move to New Iberia, you know you want to. Plenty of nice homes along the Teche.

I couldn't imagine paying 175-200 per sq ft at any time to live in a cane field but they do it

I want some land along 182. There is so much wasted land there with all those trailers.

Idk where all the people are coming from, but they are doing it. It has slowed, but it's still happening.

Yep, the Old Jeanerette Road side of the Bayou in nicer IMO. You also have Morbihan taking up prime Bayou realty right outside the city limits of New Iberia.

I am being serious. You can get a nice house and a good amount of land on the Bayou Teche.
