Did the 7 day trial and wasn't a huge fan. You have to get both packages to really get all the channels and there's no locals. I'm rolling with DTVNow right now and really like it. I'm at $55/month which includes all the usual channels, all locals minus ABC (depends on location), HBO, and 20 hour DVR.

I also hear a lot of good things about YouTube TV as I'm pretty sure they have an unlimited DVR.

I had it for a year now and I’m pretty satisfied. I stream it through a fire stick mostly. Only complaint is that I can only stream it on one device at a time but you can’t beat the price.

Buddy of mine uses it and loves it.

I have Youtube TV for $40/mo, no fees, taxes and no contract. Highly recommend it.

ETA: Due to the ongoing feud between amazon and google, you cannot use a firestick to stream Youtube TV. Get a Roku stick.

Had it last year for football season. Was not a fan of it at all. The app was laggy and pretty worthless for watching live sports. Ended up basically just using it for the ESPN app login. This year I'm giving my buddy free beer in exchange for him logging me in to ESPN go. Working out much better and a little cheaper (maybe).

I have Uverse internet and it’s the same price to get what I want on sling and PlayStation vue vs. when cable is bundled with my internet. Unfortunately there’s still not a clear cut alternative to cable tv IMO, if you’re a sports guy like me

I got off the Xfinity fix. Went to the Sling. Like others said, you need the Orange and the Blue channels for good overlap. Reduced my cable bill significantly, and I can live with some of the weirdness.

We use a Roku box. Oh, and I can't remember which one, but if you're trying to use two tvs while watching one set of programming, the initial tv is cut off.

You can add and delete specialty channels pretty easily and you don't have to enter into a contract.

Through all the trials I have done the last two years, I have been most satisfied with PSVue. The $45 package is the sweet spot for me in value and packaging.

If you don't mind the downgrade in channels, number of streams, and quality of UI (my opinion), Sling Orange plus the sports package is the best overall value. You could add a premium like HBO to go along with the above options and still come out slightly cheaper than PSVue.

I found Hulu Live to be inferior to PSVue, and I haven't sampled DTV Now as of yet.

Changing to PSVue this week. has five streams at the same time . Great fora family of 5 . I like youtube for the sports and locals but im the only one in the family that watches sports. Not a whole lot of channels with the sports though.

I've had this since day one.

Combine that with an antenna to pick up locals and im set for tv channels.

We do use someone elses login for the Disney app, but other than that I dont really miss anythong.

I don't watch a lot of TV, so basic Sling was enough. I moved to PS Vue b/c it carried Fox News but Sling didn't.

Yeah those 5 streams are crucial if you have a family of your size. That $45 tier gets me all the sports I need too, and the PSVue UI is the most natural, near-cable experience in my opinion.

What would be the best option for locals and sports?

Get an HD antenna for local channels. For sports, I'd go with PS Vue.
