I’m looking for a good sleep medicine dr in either BR or NO. I was seeing a Neurologist for narcolepsy until he moved. Any recommendations?

I don't think OPs issue is falling asleep. It's staying awake. I went to HS with a dude that had narcolepsy. You'd be talking to him in a seemingly normal conversation and look over he was out drooling. It was weird.

Dude I grew up with really wasn't supposed to be driving but he did. He could fall asleep at the snap of a finger. He was a nice guy but had trouble living a normal life.

I work with a guy who will put his car in park at a red light because he can fall asleep that fast.

I'm just the opposite. I can't sleep unless I'm laying completely flat with no light or noise. A few nights a week I have to take over the counter sleeping meds.

I can't get to sleep or stay asleep (for say more than 4 hours) unless heavily medicated, somehow able to keep my arms from going above my head, or work a ton of hours without sleeping. Even then i don't really sleep.
