Would you suit up and bite the bullet to try to catch it in a cage and kill it all the while guaranteed of getting sprayed. Or would you call a critter extraction exterminator. I can afford it and I’m also 50 years old and don’t feel like messing with it.

You answered your own question.

You lose your man card if you cannot work on your own car. You do not lose it, if you want to hire a professional to trap a wild animal.

not to be messed with unless you know exactly what you're doing, I used to install/repair overhead doors and I don't even like to mess with them anymore

Meh. If you don't know what you're doing with it, sure it can hurt you. But if you just focus on making sure the dowel is seated with each turn, and don't lose focus for one second you'll be fine.

I've used mothballs at my mother's house when they get under the house. Throw em all over the place and wait a day or so. Seems to work.

Get yourself a hungry coyote or call in a professional.

I have also purchased bottles of coyote urine and sprayed them around the house to keep them away. Not 100% sure if it works or just dumb luck.

Give some context here. How would it take your arm off? I can see how the spring launching the dowel or someone getting their head in the way of the dowel and losing a grip could cause some significant damage, but that's seemingly like saying driving a car can kill you.
