From what I understand, that count Pao was fired for incompetence.

she was fired b/c her regulations led to a fricking revolt that all but shut down the site

the article in the OP is throwing a temper tantrum because of the revolt, because it's not incompetence if her heart was in the right place

pao wasn't wrong, the people who don't think exactly the way the author in the OP thinks are in teh wrong

Gawker had an entire article blaming men, saying men wanted her to fail because of penis reasons.

It is a safe assumption that the phrase "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me" is extinct?

Tumblr is where the SJWs go to agree with each other's idiotic beliefs. And also make shitty posts attacking anyone who disagrees with them

4Chan is full of trolls, shitlords, and randoms. Although they're far more tolerable then SJWs.

Reddit has become a battle ground for people from Tumblr and 4Chan

All they would have to say is "this is just one person's beliefs; gawker doesnt even speak for us. You cannot lump all of us together"

I mean what's the point of even acknowledging their stupid memes?

because they have power, and it's not just the outward message. comments like this:

yea I find it somewhat ironic that these idiots who couldn't name 3 past presidents and have no idea when or how this country was founded are all tuned in and aware of "the holocaust".

this makes for a great big govt vs small government analogy

If you read what Peo was saying she wanted to do with the website when she first got hired on it all makes since. She wanted to expand the power internally in order to make Reddit a finical success; which at its current form really is not. However, a lot of reddit great success stories come from outside the paid staff, such as; every good mod on a good sub, Imgur was create by a user for reddit users, ect. So the current reddit community is perfectly content with how things are now. They pay for some gold here and there to keep the infrastructure and the admins stay out as much as possible.

Peo wanted to expand the power of the admins and the population did not like it

SJW's need to learn a little basic human psychology and apply it if they want change.

Insulting people will not work. Never has, never will.

Remember in 2004 when the libs were calling Bush supporters morons? What happened?

Yep. Transparency and free speech are the two big things reddit has always advertised itself as. Ellen Pao was ruining that.

well they are 100% in agreement with you when it comes to "fat shaming", but that's b/c they've been told that "fat" is a "marginalized" group

Message boards are the best place for it. They can't shout you down or browbeat your opinion away, as is their typical tactic. They have to let you express your opinion. They have no choice.

Of course, the Reddit voting system can lead to banning just for disagreeing with them, which many posters here say they've experienced. That's what really needs to go away. Here, you get banned for being a racist or going over the top, but no one gets banned for their political leanings. It's why I like this place a lot better than places like Reddit or Twitter, etc.

For Reddit to become something resembling a viable business, it has to make money, and that means making the bigots and stalkers and imbeciles feel less welcome—how many firms will do business with the company that pays to keep /r/GasTheKikes running? This is bullshite. I've been message boarding for a lot longer than I've been on here, and I've seen how this argument plays out. The mods cave in, new rules and censorship are implemented, posters feel that they have no freedom and can't express themselves (have fun, i.e.) and the place turns into a ghost town.

Sponsors don't really give a shite about /r/GasTheKikes, especially because it's not exactly prominently featured on the site. All they care about is traffic, and there's no better way to stonewall traffic that to implement numerous rules, especially when they are being directed from one side of the spectrum.
