This is a 30 sec clip of a single RS-25 engine test that I recorded when I was employed by NASA at Stennis Space Center in 2017. We were about 1500' away from the test stand.

The test lasted about 8 minutes.

The recent 4-engine RS-25 test was originally scheduled for mid-2018. As you can see, NASA will finally get us to the moon in 2055.

I see you never researched the benefits of filming in landscape while at nasa.

It was landscape. It was clipped when I uploaded it, but you didn't miss anything from the cropping.

With employees like you, it’s no wonder the STS doesn’t work.

Don’t convert video to portrait too.

What would happen to me if I was standing 200 feet directly in front of that exhaust blast? Besides deafness.. How hot is the vapor coming off that thing?

I went to one in 2018 that aborted after about a minute but it was still incredible to see it in person. And I’ve seen 2 of the smaller rockets tests out there. My FIL works there and we try to go whenever we can.

E complex tests are a bit more firey. There was a video of this engine setup fully exploding on the stand, but I think whoever posted it got in trouble.

AJ 26 test

Same engines that went boom on the east coast.

I was onsite for one of those E Stand mishaps. But wasn’t in attendance that day.

I worked in 3225 during the AJ26 test program...right when I left I got to inspect Pad 0A where that rocket exploded. Big arse hole in the ground.
