I have gotten used to it amd it sure as hell beats having toxicity around.
There's a lot to be said for peace.

quote:dude didn’t we tell you to get a dog a year back? They are men’s best friend. That dog will change your life for the better and will get you out of the house to hike and be active. Rescue a puppy and take it out to breweries and restaurants with buddies and the women will flock to you if you want that attention. Having a dog also breaks up the silence at home too having them stir around. I was single during Covid, had just broken up with my gf at the time in February and had adopted my dog about a year earlier and it was awesome and Godsend having my dog around to keep me company and keep me active outside while the world was shut down. She’s the best purchase I’ve ever made. You may question dog ownership during their puppy stage when they’re waking you up in the middle of the night to go outside or biting your hands while they’re teething or eating your AirPods, but it’s worth it

You think it’s that easy. I’m on 4 different apps. The algorithm in the apps puts popular profiles at the top. You stumble out of the gate, and you are screwed. It’s demoralizing swiping right on damn near everyone and getting zero matches day after day. Again, how do I not feel negatively about myself? How would you feel?
Trying to find love and companionship on dating apps is like trying to earn a living at a casino.
You may hit a jackpot but the odds are stacked against you.

I’m trapped in this life for the one person that truly depends on me. I’m forced to live in solitude and misery, barring some tragic accident that I would almost welcome at this point.
You're only trapped because you choose to be. I'm single and live alone but still manage to get out and do things. I'm getting ready to retire and plan on getting out and enjoying life. Get involved in church, especially if they have an older adult singles group. It will give you an opportunity to meet others, participate in group activities, etc.

Delete the app and re download again if you’re getting a bad batch to start. Thought that was common knowledge? Hinge and Bumble are all you need.

Bro, you’re on the money with this. Ever talked to a college aged girl recently. One of them told me ver-batum: “He’s not answering my calls. He said he wanted space. What does space mean?”
Made me VERY happy to be single and not dealing with that.
ETA: same girl texted me like 2 minutes after posting that

Good analogy.

If you're drinking, quit.
If your levels are low, try TRT.
Clean your residence to perfection. Every closet, every drawer. Get rid of everything but the essentials.
Clean up your diet.
Start lifting.
If you have the time, get a 2nd job. Stressing over money can cause depression.
Stay so busy that you don't have time to feel sorry for yourself.

Victim complex = narcissistic tendencies
Red flag.

Buy a bass boat. I'd like to see you try to be sad when you're setting the hook on a six pound large mouth.

Seriously tired of the BS people try to get away with and that's both males and females.
Someone I know was married just shy of 35 years. Said hubs was cheating. Met a loser on a dating site when both were in middle of divorces and became friends. Married the loser.
Marriage lasted less than 2 years. I took it upon myself to go to the courthouse to read the dirt first hand.
Drugs, drinking and alleged domestic abuse allegations were part of the story.
Now that they're divorced she says they're friends again.
So not interested in the drama that crazy people can cause.
