I just watched something where this happened on the California coast a while back. Except it was more than just dolphins. It was all kinds of animals.

They claimed it had something to do with a huge patch of abnormally warm water that was causing the animals to go crazy and beach themselves.

No, all the marine animals beaching themselves was because of the Navy testing new sonar weapons. Even had a mermaid beach itself.

Dolphins like to beat off..., filthy frickers.

Actually they would fit in well in the OT now that I think about it.

They’re trying to escape all the pit bulls out for summer swimming, obviously.

Who really cares about these lemmings.

Only in America do people care about whales and dolphins. They're not magical creatures or humans of the sea.

They don't fall in love with dogs. Disney really screwed up the west with this and the whole princess/prince charming thing.

Has nothing to do with the spillway opening.

It says in the article that some of them show lesions consistent with fresh water exposure.

It may not be spillway specific, but it probably has something to do with all the fresh water pouring into the gulf

But you weren’t worried about that, you just wanted to score some TD points

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all that fresh water is going into the gulf one way or the other, and there isn't a thing anyone can do about it.
If they are killing themselves because of the amount of fresh water, what would you suggest doing or not doing?

It would happen whether the opened it or not, it might just be slightly more widespread because of spillway opening

When did the spillway open

That's my number 1 suspect. It's a toxic soup coming down river.

Navy is probably fricking around with some super sonar and fricking up their navigation or driving them mad
