My kid doesn't have the flu but got sent home from daycare for having loose stools and they won't let him back tomorrow. This is the 3rd week in a row and I'm getting frustrated. I feel like they are too strict.

Maybe change the kids diet.

Wtf a school closed for a week due to the flue? I've never heard of that before

Daughter goes there. Over a third of the high school contracted flu. Was beginning to spread in middle and elementary grades as well. School made the right call.

Nothing has changed except removing citrus. They said it smells virusy. Either way I scheduled an appointment with his pediatrician to get her thoughts. Need to get his flu shot anyways.

Yes. We were stronger with polio and smallpox.

Thanks. We are too, believe me...

This happened last year (with the flu going around). There was a strain going around that the flu shot didn’t do anything for.

Those who are questioning why to close school need to realize that there are so many kids out that there’s no way that the teacher can move forward with the lesson plan. It’s kind of a waste to try and do so, so may as well go ahead and temporarily close than to waste a week and chance those kids getting sick too(as well as staff).

Plus, they started the first week of August to be able to do stuff like this. They basically have an extra month to work with.
