Man, this country sucks.

People building churches wherever they want...

That's certainly not what our forefathers intended!

If it wasn't for that "preppy" church, the Simple Church wouldn't be there. You are just the audience that the concept was targeting. Glad you like it.

I was in Shreveport this weekend and I don't know that I've ever seen so many enormous churches in one city. They were more complexes than churches.
You have never been to Alabama have you?

Spoken like a true judgmental, hypocritical baptist.

I was not being judgemental or hypocritical. Simple Church was started by First Bossier to reach those who did not feel comfortable attending a"traditional" church environment.

Broadmoor is not the largest baptist church

The Largest is Celebration in Metarie
2nd largest is Franklin Ave in NOLA
3rd largest is The Bayou in Lafayette
4th is Praise Temple in Sheveport
5th- FBC Monroe
6th Broadmoor
7th- fbc Covington
8th Calvary Alexandria
9th Istrouma BTR
10th FBC Bossier

There are 41 Southern Baptist Churches larger than the Largest in LA
2014 largest SBC churches

Wonder why many Baptist churches are taking Baptist out of their name?

Shreveport Mega Churches quote: One of the biggest churches, congregation wise, doesn't even have it's own building. Justin is my next door neighbor. If it wasn't for him moving next to me about 10 years ago, I'd still be a non church attending heathen. What he's done in 7+ years is unreal.

I am sure he's a good person and not sure if you are kidding about the heathen part. But if your life is better then good for you.

I can almost guarantee that I would not be attending church if it wasn't for what he created. Pretty much breaks down all the barriers/excuses I was using for years to not attend

No...The Simple Church was started by someone who had a vision of doing something out of the box, who happened to be a youth minister at the time at First Bossier. We had funding from First Bossier for a very short time period in the beginning and are thankful, but to say The Simple Church was "started by First Bossier" is incorrect.

Lakewood. Looks more like country music concert.

Just for comparison, Minute maid Park hold just over 40k.

We attend a "mega-church". I was not in favor of it for a very long time, but my daughter would go with her friends. Seeing her spiritual development and yearning for a Christian home, my wife started going and soon, I grudgingly followed. What I discovered, after getting over myself, was that we found more in common with many of the members than not, and I opened myself up to take in the messages and employ the teachings in how I conduct my life. I still fail in many things, and still have doubts, but you can't have faith without doubt

Now, my daughter is a spiritual leader, not only for her family but for an expanded community of Christ followers. I am very appreciative that she is influenced so positively and took the lead in finding her own path.
