With March being National Nutrition Month and Americans collectively spending hundreds of billions of dollars annually on obesity-related medical treatment, the personal-finance website WalletHub has released its report on 2019's Fattest Cities in America.
According to the report, almost 40% of the U.S. population aged 15 and older is obese. The extra pounds have inflated the costs of obesity-related medical treatment to between $147 billion and $210 billion a year and annual productivity losses due to work absenteeism to around $4.3 billion.

WalletHub compared 100 of the most populated U.S. metro areas across 19 key metrics. The data set ranges from share of obese adults to share of overweight children to projected obesity rates by 2030.
The top 10 metro areas ranked are:
1 - McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, Texas
2- Shreveport-Bossier City
3- Memphis, Tennessee
4- Jackson, Mississippi
5- Mobile, Alabama
6-Tulsa, Oklahoma
7- Knoxville, Tennessee
8- Toledo, Ohio
9- Baton Rouge, Louisiana
10- Augusta-Richmond County, GA-SC

What if it were broken out by race and ethnicity? Hard to do that in McAllen but what about the others.

According to Parks n Recs San Antonio is the fattest city in the US.
lol, BR at #9. Maybe you fatties should quit visiting one of those 50 gourmet hamburger places in your city and eat a salad.

At least Baton Rouge is top 10 in something!
Along with STDs, HIV, murder per capita and traffic (last one is just a guess)

Would be even worse if not for OTers with 8% bodyfat bringing the average down.

Nothing mentioned about St. George being the healthiest city in the US.

Baton Rouge is too low. Watch an LSU baseball game. Baws are spilling all into the seat next to them. It’s atrocious.
