Show of votes: who is OK with becoming a telework society?

Upvote for yes, downvote for no. Obviously not every industry can work remotely but not every industry is a necessity either. Once upon a time we all worked and lived on family farms. Are we headed full circle but with technological connections to other "farms"?
My vote is: frick this, I need social interaction to counteract my nerdy tendencies.

People are going to learn that people are typically a LOT more efficient at home. There are so many distractions in offices it's unreal.

I have been working from home for 12 years and there are really no major issues that I can tell. It is far superior to going to an office.

Hell no.
If I have to be under the same roof as my wife from 8-5, M-F, the marriage will not survive.

I just started my first company last year.
I set up everything that can be worked remotely, to be able to.
We are in construction, so obviously not every employee is able to do so, but those that can, have the option.
If you have the right people, it makes sense in every aspect.

These conference calls today have been painful.
But not sure they are any more painful than in person meetings.
I'd like to be mostly telework with scheduled face to face time as applicable. Or perhaps the video conferencing fixes this for one on ones, but we don't have that.

If you can guarantee that I come out on top of the divorce settlement, I am all for it.

I don't think its an efficiency thing. Am I more efficient at home? Sure. Do I work longer hours with no interaction at home? Yup.

I don't see how people do this shite everyday. I'm ready to get out of my house already and it's only day 1

If I could telework like 4 days a week , with one day face to face would be ideal

Do it all the time so no difference for me. Love the Zoom.

Like everything, it's a balance.

Give me 3 days per week in the office and 4 off and I’m good..

There are already numerous reasons (and studies) above and beyond a health crisis that support working from home.

This. Working from home gets so damned boring you have no choice but to work and be productive.
I've worked from home since 2011 and it is not always as great as non-remote workers think it is. By Thursday each week, I am sick of being home. 3 days home, 2 days office would be ideal.

Agree, I get so much more done at home.
Just the so called greetings in the morning alone cost you so much time.
We got one bat shite crazy bitch who waves at everyone like a politician when she walks past your office. She's waving like a jackass as she walks to the mailroom and does it again as she walk back to her desk five minutes later.

Some people maybe. A lot of people would have a larger propensity to frick around.

frick that. Im way more productive at work. I can get info much faster in person than webex, skype, and phones.

frick yes...I can do 100% of my work at home. Forcing people to come in is the dumbest shite in the world. This week has been great.
