Was this story posted on here? I must've missed it:

In 1862, after Baton Rouge fell to the Union troops during the Civil War, Opelousas was designated the state capital for nine months. The governor's mansion in Opelousas, which was the oldest remaining governor's mansion in Louisiana, was the victim of arson on July 14, 2016, and the structure was reduced to a chimney and its foundation. The one story mansion was located on the corner of Liberty and Grolee Streets, just west of the heart of town. An observation tower was removed from the top of the residence in the early 1900s but the remainder of the exterior was identical to its original construction in the 1850s. The entire roof section of heavy rafters was held in place by thousands of wooden pegs, not one nail could be found in the attic. There were plans to restore the building to some of its former splendor.

How about we just give north Louisiana to Arkansas?

sure. will cost less when the oceans rise.
move B.R north a piece at a time.
I have the O/U on 12 foot rise by 2060.
Greenland and Antarctic.
if Greenland melted it would be 18 feet.
if Antarctic melted it would be 80 feet.
98 feet of ice world wide. the ice is a mile or more thick in places.
I have 12' of that melting by 2060.
the predictions are in inches.
ha!
Move anything you can systematically.

I can think of plenty of reasons this would be a good idea. Probably a lot of heartburn down there in Baton Rouge at first but in the long run it would be better for the state. What do you think
If anything, I think we should cut the state off right around Alexandria (preferably before) and make that the state of Texarkana or something that reflects how little Louisiana culture exists in that wasteland.
Driving through North Louisiana is like driving through an apocalyptic zombie film. You're sure there's something out there, but you're pretty sure they're dead inside.
EDIT: I missed this when I posted, but I'm endorsing this:
