What is the lack of nonstop flights offered by the current airport doing to those events downtown?
As far as the flying market goes, BTR may as well be on the moon. It loses 60% of its market to MSY. The airport is less than half the size it should be for a city this size.

They are about to have to spend a lot of money to move Plank Road away from one of the runways.

NOLA would fight it bc they stand to lose all those who fly MSY and not BTR

Yes. But, then we will need the loop so Ascension Parish has easier access.
