I mean they've already gone through background checks but would it reduce the amount of school shootings/casualties if school faculties were taught how to use a gun and allowed to carry one.

So a few questions:
1. Do you think students/people would think twice knowing others were carrying on campus.

2. Do you think it would reduce the amount of casualties in school shootings.

3. Do you think that faculty would end up using the weapon

4. Could it be stolen and used by a student

It could reduce casualties in a school shooting, sure.

How would they vet the teacher to be positive they wouldn’t use it when they’re having a bad day? As you can tell from the daily threads, there’s some stupid teachers out there.

I think they should be able to but it will never happen. People will just cry that you can't just throw more guns at the problem but yes you can. If a teacher had a gun the other day many lives could have been saved.

As I said in the other threads, I’ve been on lockdown when we knew a violent criminal was in our area and had reason to come to our school. I really wish I had a firearm in those times.

As it is, I stand by the door with a bat. They may get me, but they ain’t getting my kids without a fight.

If it’s concealed well, who cares if you have permission?

Better to have trouble with the principal than to be filled with new holes by a student.

Lots of teachers have guns in their briefcase.

As soon as the criminals are made aware that faculty and staff are concealed carrying, this gay arse false flag bull shite comes to a screeching halt.

At my previous school we had kids regularly bring guns on campus and that was with an armed SRO (ours was out of the Sheriff’s department).

No. At my current school we have a massive campus with 1900 kids between multiple buildings. Someone could easily pick them off while they were walking outside from one area to another. No amount of armed teachers would stop that.

I’d be more worried about certain faculty members shooting a kid when they shouldn’t.

Yes. This would be hands down my biggest fear if legislation allows this. School systems skimp on costs all the time. I could absolutely see them buying some shitty arse lock box that’s easy to break into.

My biggest issue is, especially in the state of Kentucky where we have some of the most lax gun laws in the country, how much training will these teachers feasibly get to be in charge of a firearm on campus? As I said in the last question, they want you to pay for your own fricking printer toner and we think they’re going to really get these people quality training for this?

Imagine if the coach that was a security guard in Florida would have had a gun. Instead of shielding bullets he could have been slinging some back at the sick bastard.

Yes. Every teacher and student should be armed. This will certainly curb gun violence in schools.

For schools to not be patrolled by a deputy or three, at this point, suggests something else.

You can’t get rid of guns. It’s our 2A right.

You can’t get rid of schools. Gun free zones were created for this reason. To make the public so upset about mass murder that they beg the government to take their weapons.

Cooper explained it, and then he was murdered.

I love how the assumption is that every teacher carrying a gun would turn somehow turn into Dirty Harry.

I spent six years teaching in an environment where the threat of a student carrying a gun on campus was very real...and no, I wouldn't trust the faculty members I knew with the responsibility of being armed.

Yes. I think thy should have to go through some special training for high stress situations though. When I was in LEO, we did active shooter simulations at local schools. Have the teachers who want to carry participate in the simulations. Have a plan in place.

Former military, certain administrators, and a deputy or two. Arm them and let them conceal carry.

Watch these bullshite false flags come to a screeching halt.

Think of all the teachers you had from K-College.

Now think of all of your children's teachers.

Now think of how many you would be comfortable with having a gun.

Yeah...thought so.

This board, as a whole, thinks teachers are stupid, worthless, pathetic, and overall useless excuses for human beings. Now all of a sudden you want to put deadly weapons in their hands?

Beyond dumb.

I'd be ok with a designated few that had to go through training and get a CCL. I'd also mandate that it's kept in a biometric pistol safe secured to the desk of somewhere in the room. They can be opened in 1 second with a fingerprint

This board as a whole also has a 28 ACT average, runs a 4.6 40 time, is able to bench 225 easily, etc......

I mean I've been trained in how to properly use a firearm and training certain individuals would not be harmful. I mean we can pay for other useless stuff a firearm training/safety class for all teachers wouldn't be bad.
