I prefer the old, non Asian method.

Yes, an establishment whose sole source of revenue is selling alcohol should plan events to bring in crowds of people and then limit the amount of alcohol one is allowed to consume. That is brilliant marketing right there...it is a wonder no one in the bar bidness has ever come up with it...

Thats funny but seriously Asians take their Karaoke serious. I had the great good fortune to work with a sizeable community of Filipino and Thai folks a few years back and they had some form of Karaoke just about every night...if it wasn't in a bar it was in one of their homes or in a park in their neighborhood....they were terrible at it LOL but they enjoyed the hell out of it which made it enjoyable despite the horrendous sound most of them made when it was their turn....
