Is that not just a regular K5 blazer with a spray paint camo job?
I had one when I was in high school and LOVED it. Always working on the damned thing, though. But I learned alot about vehicles and doing repairs myself which was pretty valuable in the long run.

In some things he can. In others there may be some issues on finding parts due to the 24 volt system.

What's the mileage on it? And do you know if it's the original engine and tranny? Have either been rebuilt?

a used toyota or honda is my top reco for first vehicles, even tho
mine was a 57 ford fairlaine 500 4 door....cost a whopping 75 dollars
who knows, he may love it despite the gas guzzling status
FWIW the april issue of consumers reports reviews past years vehicles and repair records...you may want to look up that thing and see how well it fares about 6 years after it came out. if it's a real dog, you may wanna show him what they say, then let it play out anyways

but mileage is meaningless on these vehicles. many of them had seized engines from metal shavings with 20k miles on them.

It's not hard to convert it back to 12v I did it to a 3/4 pickup I bought years ago for the hunting lease
