Long story short, hurricane damaged all my properties. Insurance numbers are coming in low. People are suggesting I hire public adjuster. I’ve already received first payments on most of the properties.

Anyone on here have experience with PAs and should I hire one? Tia

If you have a lot of properties and you don’t like the numbers get one.

Aren't you a contractor? Do the numbers that you are getting from you subs for repairs look accurate to the estimate you received from insurance?

This seems like a simple cost benefit analysis to me.

PAs do not have much power in Louisiana to do anything besides writing an estimate. You’re better off with using a PA or contractor/independent adjuster in conjunction with a property casualty attorney to go after higher property claims.

It may help you down the road if you plan to litigate. Other than that, the insurance companies aren’t going to care what anyone else tells them.

A good public adjuster will be able to better detail and present one's losses. It should prove worthwhile in the end, especially when talking multiple properties.

Your broker should be doing this for you.

This is what I’m wondering. Can I fix most of the properties for the numbers coming in? Maybe

However, when I factor in my work hours dealing with all the insurance companies I’m losing money.

Just didn’t know if anyone had any experience with them good or bad?
