Put a collar on the mother fricker and be a responsible dog owner and no one will shoot your dog with a pellet gun. The way I look at it, I saved the dog from getting hit by a car.

I wouldn't kill a dog, but in your situation..If dogs are killing your livestock, then you have a right to defend them.
For all of those who are disagreeing.. What if you had livestock of some type and there was a person who came around at nigh killing them? One night you see the person, you tell them to get out of there and you call the police. The police couldn't find the person. A few days later you hear something outside.. You see the same guy trying to kill your live stock? By the time you call the police he will be gone, it will be the same route. He kills some of your livestock, nothing gets done about it. He is on your property trying to kill something you own.. You wouldn't think about shooting the son of a bitch?
