Doe's Eat Place was established in 1941 by Dominick "Doe" Signa and his wife Mamie. Doe's Father moved to Greenville in 1903 and opened a grocery store in the building that now serves as the restaurant. The family lived in a house behind the store. The grocery which the Signa Family called Papa's Store did well until the 1927 flood. After that, Big Doe Signa went into bootlegging to help the family get back on its feet. After several years he sold his 40 barrel still for $300.00 and a Model T Ford. Around 1941 Mamie received a partial recipe for hot tamales. She improved the recipe and began selling them. Hi I'm the victim of this crime. My fiancé was the one shot and our 2 year old was in the back seat. I wanted to clarify this was completely random. My fiancé is fine though he was hit in the chest once it was only 1 shot that hit him our car has two more shots but we heard more as we Tried to drive away. We were in the wrong place at the wrong time. We had pulled into does parking lot and were trying to find a place to park when the guy just came up to our window and knocked asking us to roll it down and when we told him no he pulled out the gun and started shooting. We have no connection to the man and have no idea what he wanted or why this happened. Trust me it's a mystery to us too. His name and picture have been released though

Damn, sorry for your misfortune. I thought it was more than just a random crime, given the amount of times the perp shot at you guys. Lots of aggression for a case of mistaken identity. Thugs in MidCity are upping their game.

No it's okay like you when a lot of info is not released we can all only guess on crimes that have happened. We appreciate all the prayers it'll be a long road to recovery. There was a girl involved that looked as if she was running from the shooter. She had run pasted our truck before we had a chance to park and maybe a minute later the man showed up. We can only guess he thought we had the girl in our truck or whatever. And that was why he became so aggressive. But as I said we don't know either of them. She was in custody maybe a hour in a half later and she gave the name of the shooter which my fiancé identified in a picture line up.
