Not to sound twisted, but many training classes teach that shooting for the pelvis is a very effective way to stop an assailant. I guess this is proof.

Not to be too graphic, but it's possible that his bone fragments caused as much/more damage to organs than the bullet

Unfortunately true. I have not seen anything about an exit wound either, if one exists. I did see one article earlier that said there was substantial organ damage.

I don't believe there was an exit wound. Which would make sense because someone out to kill would be using some sort of expanding bullet meant to cause tissue damage

Insults aside, this does not sound good. Steve Scalise is a good man. He did not deserve this. Maybe we should stop hurling insults and offer up prayers for him and his family. Steve is an LSU guy, and a native son. I pray he survives this and fully recovers.
