It is used correctly here... A causality doesn't necessarily equate deaths.
Casualty, not causality. Someone didn't edit very well before publishing.
And yeah, casualty would be correctly used.

any word on weapons used?

The word causality obviously isn't used correctly here.....but it would seem the term casualty wouldn't be right either.
Casualty can be used in two senses. One is to define someone killed or injured (or otherwies unavailable for duty) in an armed conflict and one to show a person was affected by an event.

Don't matter what weapons were used. Guns kill people, not people.

I am not a parent but I couldn't even imagine bein the parent of a kid at this school
Makes you really not take life for granted
This country is so F'd up mentally
Lets hope everything is minor and very fixable, if 20+ people are shot and no one dies, that would be a miracle.

What grade school did they say this was. Can’t see the tv closely but looks like lots of small kids being evacuated from the building.

Apparently they have the name of a student but haven't released because they want to be certain.

Seems like the shooting started at around 245pm, right? Right as kids were letting out of school?
Could have been a ton of people in the shooter's view.

Yes and no but the reality is people kill people
There is a more serious issue with the mental state of a lot of people today. Not just guns, people are stabbing people assaultin people, and other crap.

It's a high school with around 3,000 students. Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School

Fox just said at least 1 person shot. Let's hope it's limited to that and the other injured suffered minor injuries trying to get out.

Pretty sure there's a middle school next to the high school where it occurred.

I get that and I get that it is technically correctly used. I just think a different word could have been used.

Start hanging these frickers on the town square in front of a crowd. Gotta get old school with some of these sick fricks.
I wish they'd stop putting pictures of them on tv. That seems like a good place to start.
Unless its pictures of them on TV hanging from a damn flag pole, with Old Glory flying above 'em.

Oh I agree. I just love being pedantic. My apologies.
Victim would be an easier word, considering the popular implications of casualty lean towards the first sense of the definition rather than the second sense.
