Texas has already looked into this and would require teachers who wish to carry on campus to pass the equivalent of a more extensive CCL class.

I'm not saying I know the answer or 1 is better than the other.

But imagine the conversation when one of those teachers with a gun lose their mind and shoot up a school. Or imagine the conversation when one of those teachers are trying to protect a crazy person(who ends up killing no one) and in the process, they shoot and kill a couple of kids.

Those types of things would happen, no doubt in my mind.

I just don't know the answer. In a perfect world, you'd want a cop or some trained guard at every school, but it just doesn't seem feasible unfortunately.

True, my wife's a teacher for 3rd/4th grade and her kids drive her up a wall sometimes. I would imagine if this were to go through, these background checks would be "thorough" to say the least. That would be the only way it would pass.

My wife says they now have certain teachers (primarily the PE coach) that have to take a special class to restrain kids that are out of control since the teachers can't touch the kids. I imagine it would probably be a situation similar that would put 1 or 2 people in the school that are qualified to carry.

Reaction times would be faster if you had someone in the school able to put down threats much quicker.

You're an idiot... lot of mass murders at gun ranges?? Why is that?? According to you, they should be more prevalent

Atleast they have a chance to defend themselves, you dolt

Fish in a barrel is the best way to describe gun free zones

Pulse nightclub disagrees with you're statement adamantly... either you have lost touch with reality or you're ignorance is blinding

Go frick off to your gun free safe space and may God help you if somebody has ill intentions

If she was getting it from elementary school kids then she probably deserved to get capped.

This should never EVER happen, regardless of who the 'visitor' is. I know of no school where this is allowed these days.

I read that he was armed with a .357 revolver. So much for "assault" rifle grabbers.

Wouldn't surprise me if the people in the office were a bit lenient with the rules if they knew the guy to be the teachers husband.

But you are correct, visitors should never be allowed into the school unless on official business.
