Gun free zones continue to be some of the most dangerous places in America

Im gonna guess murder/suicide. Gunman shot the teacher, then himself. Two students hit accidentally by missed shots

We need more laws until criminals change their behavior.

The should absolutely ban guns in schools.

Dear sir coming here to murder someone. Please be aware that bringing a gun in the school is against the law and you could get in trouble for it.

People are shot in "gun-loved" zones everyday. GTFO with the political rhetoric

Says the person I bet has never been in a shootout, prolly has never been shot at. The idea that armed citizens with none or barely any combat training are going to regularly thwart gun violence is silly. Ask people who've been there (LEO or combat vets). Most people who've been in this experience will tell you that he first time you close your eyes and fire as much as you can. That's after years of training. The average soldier will tell you that their first firefight resulted in them being out of ammo and hitting nothing. Partly why there is so much friendly fire deaths in battles.
The average teacher would be more of a liability than a savior in a fire fight in a school.
Drug free zones and gun free zones don't invite more drugs and crime, they up the penalty for infractions. Ridiculing them is just the same as saying crime wouldn't happen if it weren't for drug free zones or gun free zones.
Arkansas is following this logic. I can't even begin to imagine what can happen when there's several hundred guns in a football stadium. Shots get fired and it will be a massacre. No one will no who is who and everyone will be shooting.

just out of curiosity, are you law enforcement, military, or have any experience in combat?

You must not do a lot of research before saying things.
Texas has already looked into this and would require teachers who wish to carry on campus to pass the equivalent of a more extensive CCL class.

Because a gun safety class prepares you for a gunfight. Knowing how to pull a trigger and being able to pull a trigger aren't the same thing. The latter requires a more sophisticated kind of training for the non psycho.

Drug free and gun free shouldn't even be in the same sentence. One is illegal, the other isn't. You can increase the penalty without barring the lawful use. The only people that obey these laws are the lawful users. The criminal doesn't care.

Well, you know a CCL doesn't just show you how to carry a pistol in a concealed holster. You have to prove you can handle and shoot the gun properly.
Nothing is going to prepare you for a gunfight unless you have been shot at before.
But I understand what you're saying, having signs up saying it's a gun-free zone and that you will get in real big trouble after killing such and such people is much safer than having qualified individuals who have taken courses to possibly give them and their children a fighting chance.

No, the shooting DID take place at North Park Elementary school. That tweet "few blocks from campus" and to shelter in place came from CSUSB.
