SCHEELS is amazing...but low cost it is not. Go look up pics from some of their other stores, they are crazy and they invest in training for their employees by department so the people you are talking to actually know what they are talking about when making recommendations.

Walk through a door at the one in Lafayette, and you can get good prices on ammo in Field and Stream. I went in Dicks once.

The brand name stuff costs the same at Academy, but BCG is their own generic brand. You can get a pair of BCG shorts for 10 bucks while the similar ones for under armour are 35.

I’ll second that. I live by one and they are not cheap at all. Their sale items are not cheap either. They knock very little off the listed price.

Dicks is way overpriced compared to Academy, but it’s on par with any other shoe retailer. You’d see the same at foot locker or Champs.
Honestly, as a shoe whore, most academies have upped their shoe selection as of late. I’ve been impressed. You can buy a dozen different Brooks or Saucony there as opposed to 1 or 2 and 50 different Nike styles.
Dick’s gun decision was stupid, but we’re capitalist and I support their right to make stupid decisions as a company. I probably wouldn’t have ever bought a gun from there anyways, but do your civic duty as inclined and don’t buy one from there as well. Stop bitching about it.

Dicks is overpriced, but I feel it’s their strategy. I get 20-40% off coupons in the mail monthly (off entire purchase), and this is the only reason I even go in there. With the coupons, it makes them competitive with Academy, but without it’s ridiculously expensive.

Dick's stopped carrying semi automatic weapons after the recent school shooting in Florida. They have every right to do so and at the same time I have every right to stop shopping there. They won't get anymore of my business after bending the knee to liberal bullshite.
