I saw an article that he had been with 4 departments in 6 years. At what point do cops stop getting rehired after doing something stupid, wrong, or illegal.

The way the other cops on scene seemed to distance themselves from him said a lot.

The non shooting officer actually wanted to leave the call at the door, but the cop who was the shooter was the one fishing for more and invited himself inside. And kept it up.

The non shooting officer was saying have a good night and was ready to go, but the shooting officer was fishing about the car.

And yes, this shooting cop had two past DUI convictions. You shouldn't be able to bounce around police departments once you are fired. Some states don't allow this.

There is no justifying this shooting cop. None. He is prick and an idiot.

Much smarter than you with this stupid comment. As terrible as this PERSON is who also happens to be a cop, he's still a better human being than you. Piss off

So basically he went inside to hover over her hoping she would do something. When she started the “rebuke you in the name of Jesus” talk (she was being funny), he got triggered and absolutely made it up in his mind that she was attacking him with boiling water (which would sting for about five seconds).

Seems as though this officer should have had some psych evals done before being turned loose with a gun. Unfortunately there are a lot of these types out there. They can’t wait to spill blood.

Implying that all cops are dumb (which I don't agree with btw) makes him a shittier person than the guy who shot an innocent woman in the head? You sure about that one, guy?

There's a fine line between a hot take and going full retard.

I could not watch it anymore. He stopped his partner from checking on her, too?

WOW That makes me sick.

No. The sad thing is she told them when they came in she loved them and she thanked them.

Looks like she had mental issues, but lived alone and was scared. She was thankful to them for coming out there.

She literally said, "I love you. Thank you." as they entered her home.

She was trying to do all they asked of her.

They put her in that position. If they were so concerned about her with the pot then they shouldn't have put her in that position. They should have had more patience or the officer should have offered to turn it off for her.

She never turned towards them. in any type of threatening manner. She never threatened them.

She said I rebuke you in the name of Jesus with her back turned in response to the fact that they didn't trust her. That is not a threat and did not warrant the cop losing his mind and temper and saying he was going to blow her f--ing head off.

He could have easily ignored that or simply said, "oh you don't mean that, we are just trying to be careful and we are here to help you."

Then she said sorry, let go of the pot as they asked and put her hands up and went to the ground. She was holding up the mitts from the hot pot. I don't even think she could use the pot against them even if she even wanted. Especially from the position. They had enough positioning on her.

It didn't warrant this response whatsoever. None of this had to be. Even when she let them in she was praying, but thanking them.

Her family needs to sue the police department and possibly the others that continued to hire this guy. It's sad for taxpayers, but this guy should never have been hired again.

Sick of some cops that have zero awareness and are just hot tempered.. Even if she had said, "I'm going to kill you." It still wouldn't be justified in this situation IMO. I've seen cops take far worse verbal abuse and try to deescalate like, "you don't really mean that." Especially when it comes to mental people. The dude got so pissed at something he likely didn't even understand. My mom thinks he is on roids given his temper. I don't know, but it was sad to see them go from joking to level 100 anger over something so unnecessary.

The post-shooting bodycam videos are worth your time. His "just made the winning catch" enthusiasm contrasted against his partners behavior, and the other officers standoffish manner to him, add more insight into what a pos he is and how oblivious he was to fact that every cop there already knew he fricked himself.

i don't know if she was joking, but he did not need to lose his mind over that comment. it is sad how they both seemed to be joking right before that.

he got so pissed and told her he was going to shoot her in the face and she got scared in a hurry.

Something about your post hit me in the feels. Before that I was just angry now I have a sense of hollow pain. The idea of being alone, scared, and calling the police for help resulting in getting gunned down in your own kitchen over an empty pot and a quip that was taken wrong is just so tragic.

True but a pot of water thrown from that distance and dispersed into droplets across half the living room seems unlikely to cause any serious injury.

Let’s experiment. You catch the water.
