I never thought Shep as being much of an intellect. I don't think he even finished Ole Miss. He was just kind of always there, and when not giving an opinion & sounding like he was doing a George Takei "oh my" caricature He was nothing special but also tolerable. He just kind of seemed like he was loyal to employer and stuck around while never being main focus or face of Fox News.
Many liberals here supporting him probably used to make fun of him publicly until his recent slant against Trump and "brave" official coming out as gay (and privately probably still did), but now He was the only voice of reason at Fox News and an objective news journalist. They just cannot help themselves.

One day you’ll realize that you’ve all been had by Fox News and that they’ve skewed the truth for years and obsessed over conspiracy theories that usually amount to nothing. Their goal is to gain ratings by sensationalizing news and inciting fear in Americans.
