So what's up with the residential component of this development?? In 2013, there was a push by the developer to move forward with the planning of some detached single family housing. Some pretty detailed plans. Why has nothing been started the residential here???

So the AP has a new parish president. What is the AP members on the board's thoughts on him and his ability to maybe work on infrastructure?

I don't think you understand that his goal was to further privatize and handcuff every state agency, DOTD included.
Don't like the infrastructure? Blame Jindal for shitting on every state agency, forcing those who were succesful to cut staff until they weren't, and then tripling the amount spent for zero return by privatizing.
In short, wtf are you talking about?

He's Tommy Martinez's handpicked stooge. He's just another member of the Donaldsonville Old Guard and merely a puppet for the developers. Nothing will get done by his hand, nothing. Thankfully, Matassa is old as dirt, so it is unlikely that he will seek reelection in 4 years.

Jindal often raided the highway fund to pay for all kinds of government expenses like the state police. Vitter wanted to get all of the various interests that had nothing to do with building highways out of the highway fund. That would free up millions upon millions of dollars to be used to start working down the backlog of projects.

I know where you're coming from. He has an incredible vision but lacks seriously on execution. But his vision regarding site planning, design, branding ... is really good.

But he or any of his entiities are not the actual developer or owner.

I was just asking, I know nothing about him or for the most part AP politics, well except most politicians have nicknames, like Needlenose. But I realize we are living more regionally and are getting economically integrated within parishes. AP infrastructure is important as is EBR.

There is no way you are that gullible.
Jindal gutted the state. Jindal popped risk management for half a billion. Yeah... A fricking billion. And when he slashed their staff, he specifically targeted offices which dealt heavily in highlighting road deficiencies.
Vitter was pushing behind the scenes through the entire campaign praising privatization. And not succesful privatization which LDI has used for decades. This idiot wanted to hire his friends without going through a bidding process.
And don't get me wrong, Edwards is marginally better in that respect, and a lot worse in others.
Just don't blind yourself by repeating campaign promises. When has any candidate ever kept one of those?

Jindal delivered on school vouchers.
When Vitter was in the legislature, he delivered on term limits.
Foster delivered on tort reform and workers comp reformed.

More than 20 jobs...People were already hired for this and have been training to replace people and fill jobs in units. This is an additional 20 jobs. AO units are pretty big.

Exactly what the AP needs, but of course that won't fly with the massive "this is murca and we do want we want" crowd there.
The funny thing is that AP had a plan back in 2010 that they paid for, but then didn't adopt it because residents protested that it was big government coming in to tell them what to do. Since then, I've held the personal belief that AP can go frick itself and they deserve all the headaches they get.
