Not a bad call. Wind alone is a threat.

We had sustained over 60 with gusts higher for the better part of 10 minutes.

Dangerous storm with a tornado is near Monrovia…
Looking at radar looks like I’m clear. Monrovia is about 3mi from my place

On one thread people bitching about fatties, then in this thread y’all are warning them to take cover. We need a consistent stand on the issues here on the OT
It's entirely consistent. You don't want fatties landing on your head, so we tell them to take shelter when the tornadoes comes.

I moved to central Alabama a few months ago for work. All of the schools in the area got out early today (1:30-2) and I went to the grocery store at 5:00 only to find it closed, both because of these storms that aren't supposed to arrive until 8 at the earliest.
That's not normal right? I couldn't believe it.

Tornado hit about an hr ago here in columbia ms. A buddies buisness flattened. A couple sent to hosp from his buisness with head/neck injuries. But no deaths there thank God. I hadnt heard about nearby places yet

Probably don’t want to risk anything, just playing it safe. Although stores not being open is a little silly hours before the storm.

New Orleans got that EF-3 a couple years back that tore up NO East
And nobody could tell a difference before and after the tornado.

that storm went right over my parents' house on the NOLA Lakefront just before dropping that tornado in the East
that was a crazy day watching those storms blow up

These storms in southern MS are of greatest concern to us at the moment. A tornado has been confirmed near Laurel, MS, and this particular storm will continue to track NE toward Sumter County. #alwx
