I actually run right by that waffle house on causeway approach/190 when I do my long runs. Could've been me

Looks like strongest part is following shoreline toward Lacombe

Any damage reported in Mandeville?
Posted on 3/11/26 at 9:56 pm to BRgetthenet
Multiple tornadoes and power outages across the parish. They will need to check schools for damage before reopening. No one knows right now what’s happening or has happened at 10PM.

Fox 8 showed rotation on radar over Big Branch a few minutes ago

Pretty strong evidence of a tornado east of Laurel, MS.

Lacombe/Slidell storm:
The rotation isn’t overly impressive, but I bet there’s some pretty strong straight line winds.

Aren’t there rules, even for severe weather threads?

Lots of branches that I saw. Big ones. A downed wire at the gas station across from Waffle House on 190 that was shooting sparks

Gotcha. Interested to know how strong of a tornado it was.

I have nothing to compare it to but it was intense. It was very windy but like normal thunderstorm wind.
But then it was like a mass of energy came by us. You could feel its weight and that something had changed. They have thick glass windows at Waffle House and those suckers were about to shatter. Would not recommend. It went over us fast though
