Just upgraded to TORCON 9 on Weather channel.

Haven't seen the map for the 9 yet, but I know they've said that there's an 80% chance of rotation 50 miles from any given point in southern Louisiana and southern Mississippi.

When we had a forecast that ominous in Memphis, teams of people from various universities and weather spotters driving around looking for a tornado to film in conditions that favorable. They'd take all the hotel rooms in the area and stop on the highway to take photos of the clouds.

For those interested in following today's threat online I highly recommend a site called talkweather.com. Go to "General Discussion" and click on the "Severe Threat 2/23-2/24" thread. Lots of weather experts in that thread who are very good at tracking tornadic thunderstorms and giving heads up to even tiny speck on the map towns when a tornado is likely approaching. Very very good site on a volatile weather day like today.

He only posts it on his Facebook page.

Link to Torcon Postings

This Facebook page is the only place where you will find TOR:CON postings. In past years they could be found on a Weather.Com page, but that got bought by a separate company.

Looks like a nasty cell just off the coast heading quickly towards Houma/Thibodaux area. Radar detected hail in this cell.

Rain starting now in Metairie, I can see out my window pretty much all of new orleans and metairie. looks a little worse in the huey P long area than directly over the city

Grey and gloomy and rainy but not dark...I expect the worst to hit at around 2-3 or so

should pretty much start raining now nonstop int the night

Tornado warning already confirmed around Bayou Gauche. In that little band blowing south to north just west of New Orleans.
