This was him. Today would absolutely kill him. Not enough xanax and drink to keep him from going nuts in this thread if he was still active.

Hey muddy! They are ok. Just sitting here in AL getting nervous seeing what's happening and what's headed our way

Dead calm here in Mandeville
I don't think it will be calm for long. Hopefully this thing dies out over the lake though.
It had a pretty big debris ball earlier and a very clear hook echo. The consensus seems to be that it's the largest tornado of the day so far.

Who the frick are y'all with all the terminology and interpretation of weather images? Junior meteorologists?
They couldn't be any worse than Jay Grymes, who said at 2:30 that we may not see the activity we thought we'd see today. Then as he is saying this, Steve Caparotta comes on with him to announce the National Weather Service expanded and extended a tornado watch for New Orleans until 10 p.m. And that was an hour before TWO tornado warnings were issued simultaneously in areas about 25 miles apart in the Iberville/Ascension Parish areas.
This is also the same Jay Grymes who said in '08 that we had seen the worst of Gustav as it was in the Gulf, 3 1/2 hours before it slammed through Baton Rouge.

Multiple 18-wheelers flipped over within 50 miles of BR?
