How is LSU closed and not ULL? The center and worst part of the storm goes through Lafayette.

Actually Baton Rouge is on the western edge of the severe weather risk. Judging from what we are seeing now coming out of the gulf, that was a very good prediction....although Lafayette probably isn't out of the woods completely.

This girl at work is down playing this whole thing. Of course her house is two minutes away. I gotta drive all the way back up to thibodaux. I hope her trashy above ground pool gets blown away.

A tornado was attempting to form in waggaman. I'm at cornerstone chemical plant across the river from the airport. Barge operator reported that it was spinning and sucking some water up over the river

That band in the gulf may raise northward fast enough to form the squall line

I feel your pain. I get off at 4:30 and have a 16 mile drive from across terrebonne.

Anyone have any cool pics? It is damn near sunny here in Lafayette. I might go hit some golf balls.

Actually it looks like a couple of those strong cells may track a little farther north than I thought....maybe closer to New Iberia, Henderson, and towards False River.

Edit. Actually most of them appear to be tracking slightly slightly more northward. East of New Iberia might get it soon. That puts some of it right over East Baton Rouge and southern Pointe Coupee later.
