I'll take Mike Tyson, the guy I have witnessed DESTROY other professional fighters in minutes. Bruce Lee, I've seen in film.

BTW, Mike would bite his ears off.

Period.

If i'm designing the fight, it won't be something like a boxing ring.

You're talking about professional bouts of guys fighting in weight classes.

Tyson would destroy Lee in a no holds bar fight. No way could a 130lb Lee hit Tyson hard enough to hurt him. Now I believe a better fight would be Royce Gracie vs Tyson. I think Gracie would kill Tyson.

Considering Lee would kill Gracie that's fricking hilarious.

I've seen plenty and your kidding yourself if you think it happens often. It's all about size and strength.

They are also professionals. Bruce Lee is not.

So much stupid in this thread.

Bruce Lee is an actor/performer not a fighter.

Yea, which is why i think it is even more ridiculous. In a choreographed fight with stunt men, he punched a guy in the chest without the intent of hurting him, and broke his chest in real life. That is hard enough to do as it is.

I can't imagine a bareknuckled shot from Tyson to the ribs. I truly cannot imagine that pain.

did you no understand that in this choreographed fight on a movie set Lee actually broke the guys chest? most likely on accident because of his explosive power.

I can not believe the people drinking the cool aid here. Jesus. Tyson at his prime was an animal. The man was stupid, but he had great reflexes, was quick as hell, strong as a beast, and outweighed Lee by just way too much.

I would love to say that Lee would win. However, I do not know how good Lee's ground game was. Fact is that unless his ground game wss ridiculous, which is highly doubtful, even a prime time Royce Gracie would have beaten Lee in a standard free for all.

I understand Lee was a great athlete. However, Tyson was a great athlete in his prime as well. It is easy to downplay someone you have seen while building up an already huge myth.

People all over the world box. And there is one heavyweight champion of the world. And there are millions wanting to take that title. And the king of all boxing is the heavyweight champion of the world.

Lee would get demolished by Tyson, and Tyson wouldn't even build up a sweat. Lee would get killed by any number of ufc champions as well. Lee was a great fighter. He wasn't just a movie fighter, but that is primarily what he became. This was before the merging of many different martial arts to form MMA with the merging of stand up fighting with ground game combined with kicks.

I hate to say that the art of fighting has changed dramatically over the past 20 years and the ufc is a large part of how things changed.

Honestly many of the modern ufc fighters would beat a Bruce Lee taken from his era and thrown against the superbly trained physical freaks we see competing today.

Tyson was a great fighter. A brawler. Take his prime from his era and he destroys Lee. Put Tyson up against some of the massive guys we see fighting MMA now days, in an MMA style fight, and he will have to take them down with a punch because otherwise he will be on his back. The modern heavyweight MMA champion would almost always beat just a trained boxer.

And I understand my words will fall on deaf ears, but with the advent of the ufc and the bigger paychecks, the athletes drawn to that sport are incredible. And the way they fight has changed so much since the early days.

Compare an old school MMA fighter with one now and you will see a huge change in style, conditioning, and just sheer athleticism.

Lee would not stand a chance in an MMA style ring against a great many of the current and recent past MMA champs.

That is not to say that Lee couldn't train and be good, but you take him out of his era and put him here and you will see a lack of modern fighting techniques that would doom him to failure.

Let me put it to you this way. In the modern UFC, do you think any of the million of MMA fighters out there trying to be Jose Aldo, arguably one of the best pound for pound fighter in the world and around Lee's weight would stand a chance against the current UFC heavyweight champion, Cain Velasquez? The answer is no. In fact in the history of modern MMA, with the millions of fighters worldwide that do it now has there been a 140 pound guy, regardless of how quick he was, able to beat a 240 freakishly quick for his size trained UFC champion? The answer is no. There never has been and there never will be.

Lee was not a once in the history of the world level of athlete. He was a great athlete. He would not be able to beat the current UFC champion. He would not be able to beat Tyson. The list of people who could beat Lee in an anything goes fight is long. But his size hurts him in those types of fights. Weight is a huge advantage in size and strength. If you have ever done it you would know.

Do you have reading comprehension problems? It was a choreographed scene. He did break the guys chest in real life though.

Ill say mike Tyson when he was in his prime. I know that lee had better hand speed than chuck Norris in his film and that was when chuck was at his peak condition. He won a world karate championship at that. I also know that lee trained with judo gene lebell. I just don't know how good leereally was though. I don't know of any documented championships that he legitimately won. I could be wrong though. Wasn't there a guy named Vic who beat lee and Norris back in the day?
