Serious question about execution by lethal injection

Why is there any controversy? Why would lethal injection get botched? Why would there be any pain at all?
If they put you under for an open heart procedure….YOU ARE OUT!!!! They saw your chest open! Zero pain. So why is there an issue with lethal injections?
Once you’re under they should be able to inject you with Drano and you won’t feel anything. Please, somebody explain why there are issues.

You are killing someone. There will always be controversy no matter how it’s done.

I say just give people on death row the clot shot.

Clogged lines. Air in the line that could cause a terrible and non humane death.
Not administering the drugs properly although I believe it’s automated now.
Thats why bullets are easier

I kinda take issue with it being painless.

A lot of those guys have bad veins from drug abuse. No medical professional will do it so it's amateurs trying to establish an IV line. Some people react differently to different drugs. A lot of reasons.
Hanging or firing squad would actually be more humane but lethal injection is less disturbing to the spectators and that's what it's really about.

There’s been issues with getting IVs established. They may go out but when receiving the drug that kills them, have had seizures, may not die right away or “peacefully” Personally I’m against the death penalty.

I'm no expert, but I think the big thing is doctors won't have anything to do with it because of their oath.

wouldn't it be cheaper just to knock them out like they are going under for surgery then pull out a pistol and shoot em in the head? why use fancy chemicals??

Inert gas is the way to do it. My cousin was married to a guy who went in to inspect a pressure vessel that hadn't been purged of argon. He was gone in about 15 seconds.

There are no regulations on lethal injection, just some prison trained baws do it, a team of them. Doesn't have to be a doctor, nurse, nothing special. That is why it gets botched.
I don't have any moral qualms for someone dying for their actions, but I do not trust the government with the power to kill its own citizens. Giving them that power is too much and a slippery slope towards killing your political enemies.

The biggest reason for the controversy is because pharmaceutical companies are refusing to provide the drugs they would use during heart surgery to make it painless. So the prisons are obtaining other drugs that still get the job done in not quite as efficient manner.

So.,. Is she still on the market?

Knock them out and hook them up to an exit bag. If old people can do it themselves, surely a group can set it up.
