I bought a 5 year plan with all equipment from Monitronics over 5 years ago so the contract is up. It has since been bought out by Brinks but the price is the same as when I was in contract. I own the equipment now so it's only monitoring. I contacted Brinks and they said the price is correct at 70 a month and they said they can't go lower.
Am I shite out of luck if using the equipment I have or can I use another monitoring company? I have the 2gig system.
70 seems high for only monitoring.

You can replace it all with simplisafe and it will pay for itself in a year.
70/month is insane with as many free alternatives there are nowadays.

Another company should be able to take over the equipment by replacing the cell radio in the panel. It's time to switch over to an LTE radio anyway.
Call a local company, you should be able to cut that in half if not more.

I have monitronics/brinks as well. They can definitely lower the price but you have to be connected to the right department to do so. The regular customer service people are helpless. You pay $70 a month just for monitoring? What equipment do you have? Any cameras? I pay less than $20 a month.

Glass break, apparently 6 zones (about 10 window units), and the 2gig panel. No cameras
