Not newsworthy.

She can be both. I'd hate for an evil bitch to be smart, that would suck.

Again, this isn't the situation you build a hill to die on.
Trying to even remotely defend her or her words as being not racist all but eliminates the ability to have a conversation about the scenarios that can be discussed. You're hurting your own credibility and ability to do anything.

No, people are confused about why this is only ever a story when the colors are in a certain order

Why? No one is arguing she isn't likely a racist.

There are a million examples that show the blatant double standard.
Here's where this conversation needs to start. Are there racial slurs for white people?

There's noting hypothetical about the double standard in how these things make it to the news cycle.

I usually think they're funny. I also don't give a shite about most white people and aren't in a tribe, so I don't get bent out of shape over tribal bullshite.
Most white slurs or jokes have some factual basis.

But does this make it ok to say them if you are not of said race?

Fontana’s grammar is atrocious. The DWI as well

I have never used the word because as a kid my mom would slap the shite out of me, and as I got older I realized too many people are hyper sensitive pussies and get offended at the first chance they can.

Perhaps you should brush up on the definition of the word "defend".
Pointing out that non-whites in positions of power get away with much worse on a daily basis isn't defending racism, it is decrying racism.

they have tried to make Honky and cracker offensive to white people but we laugh it off.
I can't think of any racial slurs that are treated the way the n word is. My company it's an automatic firing using the n word unless you're black. When HR covered this they actually used wetback, jap, wop, etc when making examples but wouldn't say the n word.

I didnt prove your point. I didnt make judgement of who you are based on the language you used. I didnt speak to who you are as a person. If anything I gave you a compliment for having a well thought out response and asked a serious of additional questions for you to expound upon and you took it as a slight.
Well then I completely misinterpreted what you said - my apologies.
Your original comment is probably correct in that the majority of people haven't taken the time to consider the structure behind language. A lot of people take it for granted.
Specific to this topic, people don't (or won't) understand why one group gets a "pass" on using a certain word, and another group doesn't.
The lack of understanding leads to frustration, which leads to rejection: basically "words have no meaning", which is objectively incorrect.
There are probably multiple reasons behind it, but I suspect a primary one, especially here in the south, is that white people don't want to think of themselves or their ancestors as "bad" people for saying a word that their parents used, their grandparents used, and in some cases they continue to use. It's easy for people identify with the secretary, and admitting it might get them labeled racist. (Not judging here - just stating an observation).

You can call us crackers,
Or peckerwoods or honkeys,
Ofays, or vanilla beans,
Pale face or a swamp donkeys,
You can all us mayonnaise,
Or chalkies, milk men, round eyes,
Or paper skins, or big ice Chimps,
Snow monkeys, tighty whities,
So call us yogurt yodelers,
And we will not be triggered,
Say flour babies, wypipo,
But just don't call us...
Racists.
