I live in Seattle and have a lot of friends who live in Cap Hill just slightly outside of the CHAZ. This whole thing is fricked, IMHO. A lot of the residents and small business owners are not on board with this and are miserable and the city is just standing down and allowing it with no end in sight.
I do think some of the stuff going around social media is probably fake, like businesses being extorted for protection fees. I also think the number of people involved who view this as real autonomous zone with a chance to break away from the city is very small, and the city is basically trying to let some fools have their fun LARPing for a bit hoping it will just go away. The Raz stuff is true and a real issue though.
