I just keep a flask in my jacket for a quick sip on the lift

You are a snowboarder.

Skiing in America with the rest of you backwood buffoons is far too trashy. I only ski in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and France.

Skiing in Europe is about as bad as the Northeast. shite icy snow.
Thats why rich Europeans come to the rockies

Amateur move planning a ski trip this early. Should wait until at least New Years.

Christmas at Deer Valley...I'll take being labeled an amateur even though I'd call it me being a risk taker.

What if I can only snowboard because of knee problems. Can you make an exception to the trashy rule?
Posted on 12/11/15 at 7:31 pm to JohnnyHopkins
If you dont do any of the shite i listed in the OP i will allow you to be on the same slope as me

I've never had any problem with snowboarders.

People still care about ski vs snowboard?

I can't wait to zip past an instructional group of little kids and scare the shite out of them.

I've got a question for you regular skiers:
I've been 3 or 4 times and I love it. But my shins are always in so much pain by the third day that I have to quit
The instructor watched me on a slope and said that my form was good so it must be my boot fit
Disclaimer: I have large calves and I think this may be why the boots don't fit well
I'm tempted to switch to snow boarding next time due to boot differences
I really would prefer to keep skiing but the pain makes it unbearable
I also don't know if its worth it to get a custom boot if I'm only skiing every 3 or 4 years
TLDR: my shins hurt. Might switch to snowboarding unless I can solve the problem

you have weak shins. the natural downhill ski stance has you weight slightly forward naturally...thus putting more than usual stress on shin area in the boot. A looser fit in the shin area could help of you can such it up and get stronger in your shin area.

:(
I've tried loosening and tightening the boots
I've skied through it and it's only gotten worse
I guess I'll have to strengthen my shins by doing some super P90X shin workouts

I'm a poor & minority and my kids, wife and I ski three times a year, leaving in 9 day Through New Years. Winter Park, last year we did Banff

i really wouldn't even call it strengthening more like acclimating. when you make turns on skies all your weight and pressure is on your shins. its just something you have to get accustom to. also make sure your socks are pulled taught on your feet....if they are all "bunchy" under the boot it can cause major discomfort and even foot numbness
