Maybe for beginners... But I'd only agree with the backside comment, but very rarely is anyone on my backside without them being with me or without me knowing it.

To bash snowboarders like there isn't the same types of skiers is ridiculous. I guarantee you if you ran into my group you'd not once complain about us. I'm probably the least experienced and that's only because I only picked up snowboarding in 2004 when I moved to WA. On average over the past 11 years I've gone around 10-15 times a year... Except the year I got cute on a kicker and wound up shoulder first into a crooked box haha. That broke my collar bone. My board stays underneath me when I approach lifts and when I'm on them, and I'm always cognitive of the people around me.

I've only been taken out from behind one time, and that was by a skier who didn't know how to stop and I was at the bottom of the run... I saved him from taking out an entire rack of skis/snowboards tho... So that was a good thing.

Heading to Jackson this Monday. Do know anyone that fills BCA Avalanche cannisters? Will be there for a week, let me know if you want to grab a beer one afternoon.

I wouldn't say ALL snowboarders are bad but just in general they normally don't have the same funds as skiers. Skiing is way more expensive then snowboarding so I get how snobs react when they see snowboarder ski bums. But on the tech side of things we wouldn't have rockered ski without snowboarding today. Skiing and snowboarding are both on the decline though. Snowboarding is declining at a faster rate. So you won't have to worry about it in the coming years.

I dont see skiing or snowboarding declining. Maybe shitty mountains are hurting. But the big boys are busier than ever. Constantly increasing lift capacity and terrain if they can get the treehuggers and forest service to go for it

Well I agree with the comment that big boys are doing fine. That is partly the reason I live where I live, gate access and surrounding back country. Also my family is from here (prob just gave my handle up). But collectively the ski/snowboard business is on the decline. No new resorts are being opened because most resorts lose money. Going to always have the crazy ski bums though!

I think you can just get refill canisters for 40-50$? Depending on where you are staying, it would behoove you to buy that gear in town. Hoback Sports would be your best bet in town. TVS or the JH Sports in the village should be able to have what you need in the village. I work Mon-Thursday at my real job. Work as a Red Coat on Fridays/Saturdays at the resort just getting to rip and help people in distress/hurt.
Skied a 4 pines today and was deep!

lemme know about that brew

Your patrol at JH? Yeah that riley dude has no clue how good you probably are then.

Have you ever dropped into Corbet's?

We're trying to decide between JH and Whistler for next year. I skiid JH when I was in high school but not since.

Both Whistler and Jackson are great trips. Whistler has more to offer for people that aren't skiing. Snow quality at whistler can be wet/heavy.

If you're really wanting to push yourself, the quality of lift serviced terrain at Jackson can't be beat.

One of the best ski days I've ever had. The paradise bowl was thigh deep.

Btw if I win this powerball I will be buying a house in the Colony at the canyons. Incredible

My twin lives over in PC. Planning a trip soon.

Went to ABasin today before work. Ran a few laps and headed home. Light was really flat. It was pretty crowded too. Everywhere seemed busier than I expected. Hoping tomorrow isn't bad. Everyone should be leaving.

Skiing Breck tomorrow. Got pretty steady snow all day. Roads were getting dicey. Saw a big Silverado straddling a big guard rail off Four O'clock Road. Was high centered on a huge snow plow pile. He was real close to sending it off a nice steep hill.

Got back to Denver last night from Park City. As someone alluded to earlier, the snow was great Friday am. Plenty of fresh turns to be had up around McConkey and Jupiter lifts. I love how there's no lift lines over there in Utah. The coverage is great.

Let's hope the southern El Nino storm track throws northern UT and CO a bone here and there over the next few weeks.

I rode A-Basin Saturday and Keystone yesterday. The snow was good, but not great. I think around 4-5 inches fell from Thursday to Saturday. As usual, there was some good snow to be found off of the Outback lift at Keystone, particularly the south bowl. Early reports indicating we may be in for some weekend snow

It was alright. ABasin seemed to miss most of the heavy snow that fell at times this past weekend.

Went to Breck yesterday. Fun turns and pretty good snow off of Peak 6. T-Bar down to 6 chair was a really fun run. Imperial and Kensho Chair were frigid with the Breck wind.

Might go to Vail or Beaver on Wednesday or Thursday. Then Im actually heading to NOLA for a bachelor party Friday to Sunday.
