Dept stores are dying. Malls are dying. No surprise the Sears is closing. Soon, gladly, the acadiana mall will close.

Yep. Had two close nearby and had nothing to so with the demographic.

I see a lot of entire malls closing in the next decade. I rarely go to one anymore.

I used to live close enough to walk there. Me and my friends hung out there a lot.

Malls that are surviving are doing pretty well. I'm sure the culling of shittier malls is helping their traffic.

For the foreseeable future, there will probably be some things people just want to shop for in person that can keep some number of nicer malls afloat. I'll buy polos online, but I'm more apt to go to Nordstrom if I'm spending 500+ on a jacket. If you can make it a good experience (see Nordstrom, or Apple, which is an experience unto itself) all the better.

FIFY. One has a republican mayor-president that is decent at his job, the other has a mayor-president that is not only bad but blatantly incompetent at hers. The distance will only continue to mount over the next four years.
