Seagoing trailer park sails through winter storm, with predictable results

The family said there was broken glass everywhere and the showers were exploding.
“I’m completely traumatized. I’ll never go on any type of boat again in my life after this,” fellow passenger Emma Franzese told CBS2’s Andrea Grymes once the ship docked.

I’m a huge fan of cruise ships.
It allows me to really be myself amongst my same kind.
I can eat all i want to and no one will judge. In fact, most of those folks will join me.
Plus, i can wear my fanny pack and it is smiled upon instead of looked down upon.

I though Norwegian was supposed to be nice? I don't know. I sailed with Carnival one time and that cured me of ever wantng to go on a cruse again.

My first cruise was out of nola during a winter storm. Opened my balcony door, covered up with three blankets and slept like a baby in that rolling ship.

That last sounds like a whiny bitch, but why the frick would the captain sail into that with 4,000 passengers plus a few thousand crew? It's essentially a given, at that point, that someone is going to bitch. This is exactly why you should never work on a ship where the cargo can talk

Entitled snowflakes traumatized by a sea. Jesus Christ. It’s a ship in the ocean. The risk is used to be understood by everyone.

One of my aunts began her cruise career out of New Orleans in the 1970s. Eventually, she worked for Greek and Italian lines in the Med and Caribbean, and her last hurrah before she left that life and went to law school was to be the director of shore excursions for the 1991 Semester at Sea around the world cruise.
She said the only time she was ever afraid aboard ship was when they crossed the Cape of Good Hope in a storm. She said there were several times when the ship heeled so far over that she was afraid it really wasn't going to come back up. She said that you know to be afraid when you start seeing the crew wearing life vests aboard ship.
Back then, they used the SS Universe, a 1953 freighter that was converted into an ocean liner in 1958 (in Pascagoula, no less). There's a BIG difference between that vessel and the Norwegian Breakaway:
SS Universe: 18,100 GT
Norwegian Breakaway: 145,655 GT

Ive read that cargo ships usually have a passenger cabin or two for company executives, and it's possible to rent them out if they're not being used. That would be kind of neat.

It would be the most boring experience of your life. It's boring enough working on ships. But you'd basically just be chilling in your room or the mess hall. Watching lots of sat tv if you're lucky enough that the ship has that. But you aren't gonna be allowed in any security sensitive areas so no hanging out on the bridge or engine room or cargo control room. You could probably chill with the chief steward and the head cook though. Those guys are usually characters

Cruises are the Cadillac of travel.
